The Navy Cold Shoulder

Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a terrific weekend! Mine was busy again. Shot some great photos for a new post that I will be working on! So excited for the holiday weekend! Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays! What is everyone's plans?

So this is another great off the shoulder top I got from Banana Republic. I am not a huge fan of blue but I do love navy, especially for summer. I think it pairs well with a lot of other colors. I like to do navy and white a lot but decided to just go with the regular jeans for this outfit. This shirt is super cute. I love the bow in the back and of course the fact that it's off the shoulder. Now if you read my other post Stripes & Cold Shoulder you will know that I had that shirt taken in a bit. Well, I did the same here. I just thought it was a little too wide again in the stomach area. Again, this is a personal preference. I just like my clothes a little more slim-fitting.

Shirt ~ Banana Republic ~ size small ~similar here
Cannot find on website anymore

Stripes & Cold Shoulder

Happy Monday!

I  just got this shirt and have been dying to wear it. Last week we had a semi-cool day so it was perfect to wear considering it has sleeves. I was worried the weather would be too warm to wear it until fall. This shirt is from Banana Republic and I just love everything about it.

First, I love the off-the-shoulder. I seem to be buying a lot of shirts like this now so in addition to the pink one I posted last week, I still have one more to post later this week. Second, I love the stripes. It just gives it a little something extra. At first I thought they were navy stripes, but they are actually black, hence the black shoes. I think you could even say a dark grey when you look at it close in person. Third, I love the ties on the sleeves. To me it gives off a nautical feel. Fourth, I love the buttons down the back--very cute! And lastly, I love how it comes up on the sides and not just one length all around. I feel it's more flattering this way.

I do, however, have a confession about the shirt. I had it taken in on the sides because for me, it was way too wide and it wasn't as flattering for my body type. It made me look very heavy in the middle and I don't like that. I prefer things slightly more fitted.

Shirt ~ Banana Republic ~ size small
I see that they don't have the stripe one online right now but here is the same one in white

A Casual Day

Hello Girls!

It is finally May! Hopefully some warm weather will come soon. I have been wanting to wear some new stuff but it has been too cold. I am still wearing winter clothes! Ughh!

Some days I'm able to get away with not wearing a jacket if I layer. It actually ended up getting really warm this day and had to take off the vest and the shirt and just wear the flannel. I love flannels and was glad when they came back from years ago! Too bad I didn't save any of my old ones.
What's your favorite thing that has come back into style?

Jeans ~ Citizens of Humanity ~ Racer-low rise skinny ~ size 27 ~ Bought at Calypso St. Barth

Sneakers ~ Vans ~ size 8 ~ Love these and they come in so many colors!

Vest ~ Hollister ~ size small ~ no longer available ~ similar in a brighter green

Long-sleeved shirt ~ Banana Republic ~ old~ size xs ~ similar here and here on sale! Under $50

Flannel ~ Bought in the fall ~ cannot remember where for the life of me! It's not even named on the tag!  ~ size small ~ really like this color combo and it's only $20!

Watch ~ DKNY

Ring ~ Bought from Crinoline Fashion Boutique in Greenport, NY ~ I bought this in the store. I checked on the website but don't see it there. I was just in there again a few weeks ago and they still had some left and in other colors too! This ring is absolutely gorgeous and one of my faves!

Work Style

Hello Everyone! Almost mid-week! Yay! As you can see I am adding more content to my blog. Please be patient with me! :) This is new to me so I am slowly learning how it all works and what to add. The pages up top are new but need to be filled in. Don't worry-they will!

Ok so I work full time as a senior credit analyst until hopefully one day this blog will be my full time job. :) I don't work directly with customers as they are scattered throughout the U.S. so this is why I get to wear jeans at work. Yay! I love jeans so you will see me in a lot of them. I love to dress them up with blazers, also another fave of mine! It is so easy to wear even a basic T-shirt or tank top underneath and dress it up with heels and jewelry. Most of my blazers come from H&M as I feel they have a great selection and the fact that I can always find one any time of the year! Plus their prices are great! I have quite a few but I am on the hunt for a red or burgundy one and a deep green.

Jeans - Paige Skyline Boot size 26 (bought from Bevello)
Blazer - H&M size 4 (no longer available) similar here  and here
Shirt - H&M size 4 although I could have probably gone up a size as it fits me tight in the upper arm area - similar here
Belt - Banana Republic  comes in black too! I have both as I love them so much!
Sunglasses - Bought from a car show (love cars but more on that later) for $10!
Bag - was a gift from 8 years ago! Sorry! Dooney & Bourke
Necklace - Chloe & Isabel (Limited Edition)
Shoes - Although not shown (my mistake-sorry!) Audrey Brook/DSW (not exactly the same ones but almost identical and it is the same name) Comes in black too!
Scarf - old
