Recap of Weekend

Hi Guys! Okay, first I want to apologize for taking so long to do another post. I know it's been a week since my last one. I have literally had something everyday after work and the whole weekend and wasn't getting home until very late. This has been one of my busiest summers in a long time. I really wish this was my full time job so that I could have more of a set schedule with my posts and more content. One day!! There is literally never enough time when working a full time job already to do this but this would be my dream job so I'm going to keep going until I get there. I thought I would do a little recap of my busy weekend. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend celebrating Father's Day!

So the above is what I wore on Friday (to work and after). This is one of my favorite sweaters that I have had for years. The necklace I bought a few months ago from J. Crew. I love sparkly things and this necklace was too pretty with the colors and the bow on one side.

My friend (and co-worker) went out to dinner Friday night after work. We went to Deep Water Bar & Grille in Greenport. As you can see I got a burger with avocado. Yum! This place is nice with a water view from the second floor and live music.

So obviously I am surrounded by beaches living on Long Island. This is one of my favorite beaches. I believe I've mentioned this beach in a prior post. Kenny's Beach in Southold. It is one of my favorites because it's in my hometown of course. Also, because I have come down here since I was young---quite a few high school parties at this beach--ahhh memories--lol--and the amazing sunsets. Can you not tell by this picture? It doesn't do it justice though. You definitely have to be there in person. I have no filter on this pic either!

This is my friend and I hanging out at the beach during the sunset. Nothing like a girl date on a Friday night to get the weekend going.

So we are now into Saturday. I did a 5K (walk) on Shelter Island. It is mostly known as the 10K for runners but I don't run. For me running is not enjoyable. I love walking and I walk pretty fast. So I along with other walkers/runners do the 5K part of it. Shelter Island is one of my favorite places. I definitely recommend it to people when they are out here visiting or just have never been yet. It is just so beautiful. We get to walk through residential streets and it's just so peaceful. This event is held every year in June. This was the 37th year. It is a lot of fun and I will definitely be signing up again next year.

This is my only shot I took while walking. There were I think like 6900 flags they said that were put out for soldiers that had died while in Afghanistan. It was really great to see that.

This was me after the race with my medal! Yay!

This is my friend (and another co-worker) who did the race with me. We did not plan to both wear pink (with black pants I might add). Just happened! Very funny (for us at least) lol. After the race, they had the after party at Salt Waterfront Bar and Grill. I have been to this place before and loved it so I was really excited when I found out we were going here. They had a BBQ for everyone that participated in the race along with all kinds of food trucks. They also had a band and a DJ. I wish I had taken more pics when I was there but I was too busy dancing and having fun! You could also attend the after party even if you weren't in the race. Just an FYI in case anyone wanted to come out and visit next year's race.

On Sunday in the early afternoon, my uncle's girlfriend and I went to Sparkling Pointe in Southold. If you are not aware, the North Fork is known for its wineries. I must admit, I am not a wine drinker...so far. It must be my taste buds or something because I have not really found a wine I like. I definitely love sweet fruity drinks (and of course sweets!) so my mom suggested I might like fruity sparkling wines. There are only two wineries that I know of so far that serve those kinds of wines. This place being one of them. So we decided to do a little taste testing.

We got to taste four different sparkling wines that range from dry to very sweet. I obviously didn't like the dry one which I knew before even tasting it. The sweeter ones were better, but still nothing to where I could drink a whole glass. Am I the only one in the world that can't get use to wine? Is there anyone that doesn't like wine? Leave me a comment and let me know!

It was fun though to go and hang out. The wineries out here are really beautiful but I feel weird going when I don't like anything. I guess I could always just drink water. Haha!

After the winery, I then went to my step-dad's family's house and we had a BBQ. His family is big so it is always a blast hanging out there. People are in the pool, dogs running around, so much food everywhere! Sadly, I didn't take pics there either. I am going back in a few weeks for a grad party so I will take some pics then. I might even do a snapchat video!

Well I hope everyone had a good start to the week!

Thank you so much for reading!

Stripes & Cold Shoulder

Happy Monday!

I  just got this shirt and have been dying to wear it. Last week we had a semi-cool day so it was perfect to wear considering it has sleeves. I was worried the weather would be too warm to wear it until fall. This shirt is from Banana Republic and I just love everything about it.

First, I love the off-the-shoulder. I seem to be buying a lot of shirts like this now so in addition to the pink one I posted last week, I still have one more to post later this week. Second, I love the stripes. It just gives it a little something extra. At first I thought they were navy stripes, but they are actually black, hence the black shoes. I think you could even say a dark grey when you look at it close in person. Third, I love the ties on the sleeves. To me it gives off a nautical feel. Fourth, I love the buttons down the back--very cute! And lastly, I love how it comes up on the sides and not just one length all around. I feel it's more flattering this way.

I do, however, have a confession about the shirt. I had it taken in on the sides because for me, it was way too wide and it wasn't as flattering for my body type. It made me look very heavy in the middle and I don't like that. I prefer things slightly more fitted.

Shirt ~ Banana Republic ~ size small
I see that they don't have the stripe one online right now but here is the same one in white

A Night Out

Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I went to the movies yesterday to see the Conjuring 2. Anyone else like scary movies? I love them! I don't do roller coasters or things like that so I guess scary movies are my way of seeking a thrill.

Today my family and I went out to dinner to celebrate the June birthdays of my two uncles and half-brother. I wore a new outfit so that will posted this week!

So for this post it was a night out after work with a co-worker, hence the very few pics. We went out to a place called CowFish in Hampton Bays, NY. The view is beautiful! You can sit inside or on top of one of the decks or you can sit at the full bar outside. There is seating everywhere and they have live music. The first three photos are taken here. The last three are actually taken at another place we stopped at called Rumba. This place is a lot of fun also!

So I went with the hot pink and black again. I had actually bought this shirt a couple months ago and was waiting to wear it when it got warmer. Then I had found this clutch shortly after and thought it matched perfectly! If you are wondering what the shirt means, here's a little fun fact about me. I love cars...and by cars I mean old classic/hot rods/muscle cars...however you want to name it. My father has always been into cars and so is my uncle (trucks too but that will be a story for another time). So I took after my dad and have a love for cars as well. I go to a lot of car shows over the summer and fall. Hopefully one day I will have my own 69 Camaro and/or 71 Chevelle. The shirt is actually from a show I went to last October in NC. Goodguys is the name of the association and I love that it says established in 1983 because that is the year I was born which made me want it even more, plus I just love the hot pink!

Shirt ~ Goodguys ~ size medium (they run small so I went up)

Favorite Sephora Products

Hello Girls!

So I am a huge fan of Sephora. I probably get 98% of my beauty products from there which is why I'm a VIB Rouge member. For anyone who doesn't know what that means.....it means I am at the highest level because I spend a ton of money there. Hey, what can I say, I'm a girl who needs a lot of products! :)  So I wanted to share some of my favorite things I get there.
What are your favorite products?

1. Comptoir Sud Pacifique -Vanille Abricot  This smells incredible! This is a relatively new scent I found a few months ago and it is now one of my favorites. I tend to like scents with vanilla in it so this works perfect for me. It comes in three sizes!

2. Benefit Cosmetics-Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel  I actually found this product because of another blogger I follow: Hello Gorgeous at angelalanter.com. Check her out as she is beautiful and has awesome videos! I am so glad she recommended this product because I love it! It's a great finishing touch to my brows. Comes in two shades!

3. Buxom - Full-On Lip Polish  Can I say obsessed with these!! I have several shades. My favorite is probably the Dolly one. That one I wear by itself. Others I sometimes apply a small amount over a lipstick or stain just to add some shine. I'm a big gloss fan so I absolutely love these!

4. Buxom True Nude Lip Foundation   This is my new favorite lip product. I got this as a sample and fell in love! It doesn't say what color it is on my tube so I can't give you the name (I'll have to bring it to the store when I run out). It's definitely one of the lighter pinks but all the shades are beautiful!

5. Buxom Lash Mascara  Can you tell I like Buxom products?! lol I sometimes alternate with other mascaras from Sephora but this one I would say is my favorite. I like the type of brush it has and the fact that it is volumizing. My eyelashes are scarce so they need all the help they can get!

6. Prada Candy  Love this perfume so much! Depending on my mood for the day, I alternate perfumes and this one is in my rotation. To me it has a sweet scent (vanilla is in this one too) and sweet or fruity are my go-tos when choosing fragrances. I definitely recommend this one!

7. Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm  I have been using this product for awhile now and it is still a fave. It has many benefits and is great for sensitive skin and blemishes which I suffer from both. It comes in one shade and two sizes. Highly recommend!

8. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20-Illuminating  I've been using this product for years. I'm pretty basic with my makeup most of the time. I apply the Jr. Jart BB (listed above) first and then put this tinted moisturizer over it. Both give enough coverage for my days at work but it still allows my freckles to show. I could use a foundation and powder for when I want a more covered look but I will work on getting those products soon. Any recommendations?? This product does have 2 other versions but I have the Illuminating one in Bare Radiance. If you want more of a light coverage, then this will work.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed my first product collage! Please leave me any questions or comments you have. I would be thrilled to hear from you!

Goodnight!

Of the Shoulder

Hello Everyone! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I just got this top in the mail last week and was so excited to wear it! I found this through one of my fave bloggers at cellajane.com. She was wearing it and I had to have it! You have to check out her site! I have ordered some great things because of her.

This top is the prettiest blush pink. It's flowy which is good on those not-so-great stomach days and it's off the shoulder which is huge this season.  This top comes in 2 other colors and is under a $100!

Top ~ Express ~ wearing size small

Jeans ~ Paige ~ size 27 ~ similar here

Shoes ~ DSW (These are a favorite of mine!)

Memorial Day Weekend

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
I was not home most of the weekend hence the lack of posts. So sorry!
Most of the weekend had great weather (finally!) so I took the opportunity to wear one of my new shirts. I love anything beachy so this shirt was super cute to me. It's a little different than what I usually wear. For starters it is short. I tend to like longer shirts. Also, it flares out and sometimes that look doesn't work for me as it can make me look heavier in the stomach area. But I bought it anyway and paired it with shorts for a casual look that's non-fussy. Underneath, I wore a navy lace bralette instead of a regular bra. I also don't own any "short" shorts. As you can see, they are longer. I have not been able to find any that I think look good on me. If anyone has any suggestions, leave me a comment!

Top ~ Aerie ~ size small

Bralette ~ Aerie ~ size medium ~ similar here and here
The bralettes are buy one get one for $10 right now!

Starfish ring ~ old ~ so I cannot find a ring like mine online which is crazy with all the nautical stuff out there but I'm sure there are tons in stores

Red & gold anchor bracelet ~ bought from Strawberry Festival held every year in Mattituck, NY

Gold nautical bracelets ~ Alex & Ani

Sunglasses ~ Ray-Ban
